Pick Me Up - James Blake & Labrinth [SONG]

James Blake and Labrinth have collaborated to make the newest song for the Euphoria Season 2 Soundtrack, Pick Me Up.

While Labrinth is a feature on this track, he is also the main composer for the score of the series. Though he does sing on many stellar tracks from the show, his production takes over the majority of what we hear, but please don't think I am complaining about that in the least. When he does sing, he truly blesses all of the viewers. The harmonies that Labrinth writes are gorgeous masterpieces that feel like gold in your ears. His ability to set an emotional tone with his work has defined a sound that is so iconic and easily recognizable for the show, and it has the power to soundtrack moments and feelings far beyond the boundaries of Euphoria. I am so glad James Blake has teamed up with him because they are two wildly talented artists who create incredible music with their monumental production and vocal abilities.

The musical powerhouses create an overwhelming euphoric atmosphere with this newest song. Labrinth sings on the chorus with a piercing falsetto that sounds absolutely heavenly. He carries the harmonies in the chorus with a grace unlike any other. James Blake approaches his verse using his signature soft yet defined vocals over soft piano chords complemented by appearances of additional subtle instruments. His toned down vocals and production for the verse allows for Labrinth to open up and the sounds to rush in with a beautiful contrast between the verse and the chorus.

When two musicians of this caliber team up, it's really hard to get it wrong. Both Labrinth and James Blake complement each other's styles so perfectly, so they seem like a match made in music heaven. I'd love to see more work with the both of them in the future because I'm sure it would be a mind blowing project.

Be sure to check out their new song!
